Hello, I am Pastor David Wall and I have just arrived at First Lutheran as an  Interim Pastor.  It is great to be in Marshall and I have served as an interim pastor in 11 other Lutheran churches in southwestern Minnesota, but none in this immediate area and I am impressed with Marshall and the surrounding area. 

I am an intentional interim pastor which means I am called to this specialized ministry and have been in seventeen different locations in the past 15 years--from St. Paul to northeastern Iowa to southwestern Minnesota.  The most positive experience in this ministry is that I get to meet a great number of people of faith in many churches.  It is great to work with them in the transition of having a pastor leave to preparing for the next pastor to arrive.  It is a relatively new ministry in recent decades and really we did not have many interims in the Lutheran Church before 1985.  The most difficult thing for me is that I don't have a long term relationship with congregations as you can see I average less than one year in each congregation.  But often times, we see even in a relatively short time, that many positive things take place in this transition time between settled pastors.   

My spouse, Catherine and I reside in Lakeville, Minn. and she also is a church worker and is a Worship and Music Director.  We have three grown children and one granddaughter delighting us. 

I invite you to come to First Lutheran and get to know the people as I am getting to know them.  I am very impressed with the worship here and the love of Christ that I have seen in my early days here.  First Lutheran is a great Mission Outpost growing the faith each day.  May God's blessings be obvious to you--
